Where Competition Meets Culture and Climate

Marrakech Golf Festival

A Week of International Amateur Golf in the Pearl of Morocco

From 29 November to 6 December 2026, Marrakech will once again host the Marrakech Golf Festival, an established international amateur tournament week combining structured competition, refined hospitality and cultural discovery.

Now in its 11th edition, the festival has evolved into one of the most attractive winter tournament formats for European golfers seeking reliable climate conditions, high-quality golf courses and a professionally organised programme.

Five Tournament Days – Five Distinct Courses

The festival is played across five carefully selected golf venues in and around Marrakech:

PalmGolf Ourika Golf Club
Palmeraie Golf Club
Noria Golf Club
Amelkis Golf Club
Akenza Golf Club

Each course offers its own architectural identity. From desert-style layouts framed by the Atlas Mountains to more strategic parkland designs with water features and sculpted bunkering, the week provides technical diversity and sustained competitive interest.

The tournament format is Individual Stableford, played under full WHS handicap regulations with course adjustments. Men play from the yellow tees, ladies from the red tees. The structure ensures fairness across all categories, including Men, Ladies, Senior Men and Senior Ladies.

The tournament is directed by Mr Benjamin Oosterveer and Mr Karsten Maas, ensuring experienced oversight and professional coordination throughout the week.

A Balanced Programme of Sport and Social Exchange

The Marrakech Golf Festival is designed to combine competitive golf with an elegant social atmosphere. Beyond the five rounds, the programme includes cocktail receptions, prize ceremonies and a gala evening marking the culmination of the event.

Participants also benefit from a guided exploration of Marrakech’s historic centre, including the Medina, the souks and the iconic Djemaa el-Fnaa square. A traditional dinner with show further introduces guests to Moroccan hospitality and cultural richness.

This balanced structure allows players not only to compete, but also to connect. Many participants return annually, valuing the opportunity to combine performance, international encounters and shared experiences in a refined setting.

Marrakech – A Strategic Winter Destination

Late November and early December offer ideal playing conditions in Marrakech. With stable temperatures and minimal rainfall, the city has positioned itself as a reliable winter alternative for golfers from Switzerland and across Europe.

Beyond the fairways, Marrakech presents a compelling contrast of tradition and modernity. Historic riads sit alongside contemporary five-star hotels. Refined gastronomy complements vibrant street life. The Atlas Mountains provide a dramatic natural backdrop rarely found in urban golf destinations.

It is this combination of climate, architecture and cultural depth that elevates the tournament week beyond a standard golf event.

For Golfers Seeking More Than a Competition

The Marrakech Golf Festival is suited to amateur golfers who value structured competition in an international setting, without losing the pleasure and social dimension of the game.

It is a week defined by sporting integrity, professional organisation and the distinctive atmosphere of one of North Africa’s most fascinating cities.

For those wishing to close the season in style or maintain competitive rhythm before winter, Marrakech in late 2026 represents a considered and rewarding choice.
